Quartzfest 2009 Organized by Cliff and Virginia Haycock ...Located 5 miles south of Quartzsite Arizona in the desert this is truly one of Ham Radios great Radio Hamfests with lots of space to put up your favorite antenna; presentations throughout each day and social hour and bonfire in the evening.  This year included Geo Caching and Fox Hunting for the newbie. We had 15 stations participate in the 40 meter antenna shoot off with categories for QRP, 100 watts, Un-limited and Screw Driver type antennas.   Festival attendance was up this year and there were a number of folks who arrived just for the day while others stayed for the full week or more.
